Forrest City Athletic Hall of Fame

The 12th Annual Forrest City Athletic Hall of Fame induction ceremony will honor nine new members. The honorees are chosen from three eras: Lincoln High School, Forrest City High School before 1970 and Forrest City High School after 1970.

This year’s honorees include: Freddie Brown ’69, Johnny Jones ’68 and James Pickett ’65 from Lincoln; Cecil Forrester ’43, Robert “Red” Barnett ’57 and Randy Laws ’64 from Forrest City before 1970; and Greg Seawood ’83, Lewis Jones ’85 and Allen Perry ’75 from Forrest City after 1970.

Forty-one years ago Lincoln and Forrest City became one. It was a difficult, turbulent time. At this year’s Hall of Fame banquet we are paying tribute to the coaches and players who joined hands on the gridiron and the basketball court. These men deserve a lot of credit for the successful total integration of our school system.
